This Privacy Policy explains how the ACM MAJU Student Chapter at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University ("we", "us", the "Chapter") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website, create an account, or download study material through the Knowledge Tune-up library.
Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number, bio, and profile photo.
- Verification documents — if you request a Student, Alumni, or Faculty role, the ID card (image or PDF) you upload for review.
- Activity — revision notes you download, and events or competitions you register for.
- Technical data — cookies and session data needed to keep you signed in, and anonymous analytics (only if analytics is enabled by the Chapter).
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and give access to member features.
- To verify your membership tier from the ID card you provide.
- To make revision notes and event registration available to you.
- To send account emails such as verification and password-reset messages.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
Verification documents
ID cards uploaded for role verification are stored privately, are accessible only to authorized Chapter administrators for the purpose of verifying your status, and are not shared publicly. You may ask us to delete a verification document once your request has been reviewed.
Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to secure forms. If analytics is enabled, a privacy-respecting measurement tool may record anonymous, aggregate usage; it does not identify you personally.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with service providers that help us operate the site (for example, our email and analytics providers), or where we are required to by law.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed, and uploaded verification documents are kept in private storage. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
